TUBULAR PIPE INSPECTION

EIPS offers a comprehensive tubular inspection service of new or used equipment to ensure reliable and safe operation of a drilling operation at the rig. We inspect drill pipe and associated hardware according to client requirement or and per the specified standard such as API, DS1. Our inspection program includes equipment such as Drill pipe, tubing, casing, sucker rods, coiled tubing, drill collars, bottom whole assembly, and cross over subs and typically would involve one or more of the following:

  • Visual inspection of body & threads,
  • UT wall thickness measurements & dimensional inspection,
  • MPI to identify cracks & other defects,
  • Hardness testing,
  • Internal inspection of upsets – MPI,
  • Tool joint inspections – VT & dimensional,
  • Drifting assessment.
  • 2-function Non-destructive Electro-magnetic (EMI) Inspection unit.
  • 4-function Non-destructive Electro-magnetic (EMI) Inspection unit.
  • OD and ID cleaning of tubular from 1 ¼" up to 5 ½" tubing and drill pipe.
  • Water blasting ID of tubular up to 20,000 lbs. of water pressure.
  • API ring and plug gauging of threads.
  • Special end area inspection (SEA).
  • Black-light of connections and tubes.
